Some general info on the Dogue De Bordeaux. The Bordeaux comes from France and is commonly referred to as a French Mastiff. The average size is around 130 to 170 lbs. with a shoulder height of anywhere from 24" to 27". The Bordeaux is a very docile animal but can be aggressive if need be making it perfect for a pet or for home security. We have been breeding this breed for 16 years now, producing some of the largest heads and massive bone in this breed. For the connoisseur, one who is prepared to give his dogue the training he needs, the amount of food with the correct exercise, and space he needs will have a devoted and intelligent companion whose sole interest will be to be with, and serve his human family !!! The dogue a dog for all purposes, war dog, cattle drover,a guard dog, a cart hauling dog, a bull baiting dog, and then a fighting dog. Yet despite his ancestry, the modern breed is a delight, a dog full of confidence, who is normally calm, not needing to prove himself. Even tempered, and devoted to his human family, but will not tolerate intruders. A softie with his friends, loves luxury. I personally will never be without one at my side, there isn't any dog in my eyes that can come close to the DOGUE DE BORDEAUX the love of my life. Good luck with your search and DO YOUR RESEARCH well, as there are already MANY new comers to this breed that know nothing about how to breed, or even care to learn,if you spend some time researching it is just as easy to get a good one, as it is a bad one !!!!
